How does science help us in everyday life?

There are so many ways that science helps us in our daily lives. Science contributes to us living a longer and healthier life through advancements in cures for diseases, medical treatments and equipment, monitoring our health and providing education about healthy lifestyles and habits.

It also allows us to live our lives more comfortably than before. Lighting, heating and cooling, cooking facilities, running water, and so many other facilities in our homes that we may take for granted, are the product of scientific developments.

Giving to science-related recipients on Giveabl means that you can continue funding research and reports that result in changes that help our planet, communities, and individual lives.

How is science funded?

This will depend on where you live, but generally, science is mainly supported by businesses, governments and universities. Companies researching and developing products or services can pay for scientific input and contribution. Governments can provide grants that scientific labs and organizations can apply for. Universities are also significant contributors to funding for science, with some universities having science labs on campus for students and professionals.

Another source is nonprofit foundations that fund the research and development of cures for diseases or other medical conditions. This is where you can help by donating to one of these nonprofit recipients on Giveabl and allowing them to continue funding the research and breakthroughs they desperately need.
